Terms of Service
Last updated: May 29, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the WebTrustScore website at webtrustscore.com and its scanning API (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service
WebTrustScore collects publicly observable signals about a submitted website — security, identity, reputation, transparency, and resilience — and combines them into a single 0–1000 trust score with a descriptive band.
Scores are informational, not a guarantee
A WebTrustScore is an automated, point-in-time estimate based on available evidence. It is not a definitive statement that a website is safe, unsafe, legitimate, or fraudulent, and it is not professional, legal, or financial advice. Always use your own judgment before interacting with, transacting with, or trusting any website. Scores may change as evidence, data sources, or our methodology change.
Acceptable use
- Do not use the Service to attack, overload, or disrupt any website, our infrastructure, or third parties.
- Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, abuse controls, or access non-public parts of the Service.
- Do not scrape, resell, or redistribute the Service or its results in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
- Do not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to defame or harass others.
We may rate-limit, suspend, or block access that we believe violates these Terms.
Intellectual property
The WebTrustScore name, website, scoring methodology, and software are owned by us and protected by applicable law. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.
Third-party websites and services
The Service evaluates third-party websites and relies on third-party data providers. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of any website you scan or of the data providers we use.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scores will be accurate or complete.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WebTrustScore will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of or reliance on the Service or any score.
Changes
We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, reflected by the "Last updated" date.
