Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
This policy explains how to cancel a paid WebTrustScore plan, what happens when you do, and when we issue refunds. All payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card details — and this policy is applied through Stripe's billing tools, so what you see in the billing portal always matches what is described here.
Summary
- Scanning and scoring are free — there is nothing to cancel on the Free plan.
- You can cancel a Premium subscription at any time, yourself, from your account page.
- Cancelling stops future charges. Your Premium features stay active until the end of the period you already paid for; no further renewal is billed.
- We don't prorate or refund the remainder of a billing period you've started, except for billing errors or where the law requires otherwise.
- Billing mistakes — duplicate charges, charges after cancellation — are always refunded in full.
Cancelling a Premium subscription
Go to Your account → Plan and choose Manage subscription. This opens the Stripe billing portal, where you can cancel (or change) your plan with immediate effect and no contact with us required.
When you cancel, the subscription is set to end at the close of your current billing period (month or year). Until then you keep every Premium feature — monitoring, scheduled re-scans, email alerts, and your retained scan history. After the period ends your account returns to the Free plan and is not billed again. We don't charge cancellation fees.
Refunds for subscription payments
Because you can cancel at any time and keep service through the period you paid for, subscription payments are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started — we don't issue partial or prorated refunds for unused time. We will, however, refund in full:
- Billing errors. Duplicate charges, a charge after you cancelled, or an amount that doesn't match your plan.
- Accidental renewals, promptly reported. If an annual plan renewed and you contact us within 14 days of the renewal without having used Premium features in the new period.
- Anything the law requires. Nothing in this policy limits refund or cancellation rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law that cannot be waived.
One-time purchases and credits
One-time purchases (such as a Certified Score or attestation credit packs) are digital services delivered immediately, and their credits never expire. If a one-time purchase is entirely unused, you can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase. Once a credit from the purchase has been consumed — a certified scan run, an attestation published — the purchase is non-refundable, because the service has been performed (on-chain attestations in particular cannot be un-published).
How refunds are issued
Approved refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method. Stripe submits them immediately; depending on your bank, the refund typically appears on your statement within 5–10 business days. We can't redirect a refund to a different card or account.
How to request a refund
Use the contact form or email contact@webtrustscore.com from the email address on your account, and include the approximate charge date and amount. We reply to refund requests within a few business days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and its "Last updated" date. Changes never apply retroactively to a purchase made under an earlier version.
